Ping

Test network latency and connectivity to a host or IP address with our free online Ping tool.

Home Ping
Our free online Ping tool lets you quickly test the connectivity and response time (latency) to any web host or IP address. Diagnose network issues, verify server response, and measure your connection speed. Essential for troubleshooting and ensuring your network is running efficiently. Ping your host instantly!
Try:
  1. 1 Input Target: Enter the IP address or hostname (e.g., `google.com` or `8.8.8.8`).
  2. 2 Execute Ping: Click "Start Ping Test".
  3. 3 Review Results: The tool sends ICMP packets and displays the latency (response time in ms) and packet loss percentage. Low latency and 0% packet loss indicate good network connectivity.

What is ping used for?

Ping is used to test the reachability of a host on an IP network and to measure the Round Trip Time (RTT) for messages sent from the originator to a destination computer.

What is acceptable ping latency?

For general browsing, under 100ms is fine. For gaming or low-latency applications, 20ms to 50ms is considered excellent.

What does "100% packet loss" mean?

It means the host is completely unreachable or actively blocking ICMP traffic (the ping request). This often indicates a severe network block or firewall issue.

Network Troubleshooting

Example Keyword: diagnose slow connection
Quickly check connectivity between your device and a remote server.

Gaming Performance

Example Keyword: check game server latency
Measure network delay to ensure a smooth, lag-free online gaming experience.

Firewall Testing

Example Keyword: test icmp block
Verify if a host's firewall is successfully blocking ping requests for security.
